Attorney Grasso celebrates opening of new offices

The lavish designer dresses that once hung in the windows at 1310 Atwood Ave. in Johnston have been replaced with stylish Venetian blinds, but the plush carpeting that’s approximately three decades old looks like new.

There’s a lot of history in the three-level building, which now has a manicured lawn, new parking area, and lighted marquee featuring the scales of justice.

Gone is Debbie D’Antuono’s La Bottega, which sold specialty wedding gowns, party dresses, and exclusive women’s wear for roughly three decades. The site now houses the office of Jacqueline M. Grasso, Esq. – dubbed “Judge Jackie” by some friends and family members.

Grasso, who has been practicing law for more than 20 years in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and federal courts, practices general law and manages a wide range of personal and business matters for clients. She has served as an adjunct professor at the UMass-Dartmouth School of Law, and has been Bristol’s chief municipal court judge for a decade. For the past three years, she has also served as an associate municipal court judge in Johnston.

On Saturday, Grasso served as tour director inside her new office. It includes space for other professionals, offering Wi-Fi, administrative support, and conference room access.

“I’m delighted to be in my new location,” she said. “The renovations are beautiful and are that way thanks to my father, Joe Grasso, who was an invaluable project manager. I could not have done this without him.”

Mayor Joseph Polisena and Town Councilman Richard DelFino III were on hand to deliver the town’s greetings.
