Benefit concert to support RI Philharmonic Music School Scholarship Fund

Hasbro’s Music Matters Network and the Rhode Island Philharmonic Music School will host its 6th annual benefit concert, where 100 percent of proceeds will benefit the Rhode Island Philharmonic Music School Scholarship Fund, a program designed to give disadvantaged youth access to music.

The event, open to all ages, will offer guests a variety of musical genres to enjoy, including swing, jazz, pop, classic rock and tunes from the ’80s. The Rhode Island Philharmonic Youth Jazz Band, which is composed of students from high schools around the state of Rhode Island, will begin the night with a swing/jazz performance, followed by three of Hasbro’s employee-led bands: “The Exclusives,” “Toys 2 Men” and “Blaster.” A DJ will perform during the last hour of the event.

Hasbro’s Music Matters Network, a group of employees that showcase their diverse individual and collective musical styles and talents, has a mission to promote music education and awareness at Hasbro and in the community through volunteering and benefit concerts.

The benefit concert will take place Jan. 30 from 8 p.m.-12:30 a.m. at The Met Hope Artiste Village, 1005 Main St., Pawtucket. Doors open at 7 p.m.
