Bike to breakfast

Posted

It’s spring, and May is National Bike Month. The Staff at the Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council (WRWC) is excited to get the community out riding on the Greenway Bike path, a seven-mile path that runs from downtown Providence to Johnston. To kick off Bike Month, the WRWC invites riders of all ages and ability levels to join them on Tuesday, May 3, at 7:30 a.m. to bike to breakfast. Meet the staff of the Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council at their office at 45 Eagle St. in Providence and they’ll lead you to their favorite breakfast spot in Johnston – Scrambler’s Restaurant. This will be an easy five-mile ride with a couple of on-road sections, but mostly smooth sailing along the Woonasquatucket River bike path. Bring some cash or a credit card to cover your meal. All are welcome. Youth should be accompanied by an adult and all riders must wear a helmet. The WRWC will not provide bikes or helmets. For questions or to pre-register for the ride, contact Amanda Blevins at blevkatt@gmail.com or 401-580-9282. (Submitted photo)
