At the Mohr Library
Saturday drop-in: Crafts programs are held every Saturday and feature several self-directed projects for kids and parents to do together. Drop-in anytime between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Craft programs are not appropriate for children under 3 as small parts might present a hazard.
The Mohr Library is currently accepting registrations for its participation in a 12-week digital storytelling class that will result in teens' work being included in the upcoming PBS series “Confessions of a Teenage Critic.” The library is one of four libraries in Rhode Island chosen for the project, which is scheduled to begin Jan. 23 and run every Monday (except holidays) from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Space is limited for this class. Mens A Cappella Singing
The Narragansett Bay Chorus invites all men who like to sing to their open rehearsals. Join them every Thursday evening for a fun night of a cappella singing. Reading music is not necessary, as learning CDs are available. Four-part harmony fills the rehearsal hall. Attend, sing and enjoy the fun. Swinging Squares

Free Tax Assistance & Preparation
The Rhode Island AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program is offering free income tax assistance and preparation. The service is available at the Cranston Central Library, Sockanosset Cross Road, Mondays from 9 a.m.- 12 noon, Feb. 6 through April 9 (except President’s Day, Feb. 20). Scholarship Fund
The Rhode Island Building Industry Scholarship Fund is now accepting applications for their scholarship fund. The purpose of the fund is to aid Rhode Islanders who require financial assistance in the pursuit of education in the construction or building industry fields. Any Rhode Island resident who is unable to provide full payment of tuition or other costs for courses related to the construction or building industry is eligible. To receive a copy of the application, contact Maureen Myette at 333-3192 or email mjmyette@cox.net. Deadline for accepting applications is March 1.

Senior Softball
Registration is now underway for those 57 and over to join in a recreational slow pitch softball league. All games are played at City Park in Warwick. The application fee is $20. Deadline for registration is March 15. They play from May to September. The league’s priorities are fun, recreation and friendly competition.
