‘Cocktails for a Cause’ boosts Alzheimer’s Association

Cherry Hill Manor recently hosted yet another highly successful event that will directly benefit the Alzheimer’s Association of Rhode Island.

However, the gathering – which was entitled “Cocktails for a Cause” – wasn’t held at the award-wining nursing home and rehabilitation facility in Johnston.

“This was a good event at a great venue,” assessed Lisa Mallozzi, an LPN who doubles as the director of marketing/clinical liaison at Cherry Hill Manor and volunteers for the Alzheimer’s Association inside Hanley’s Ale House at 52 Pine St. in Providence. “Tonight’s proceeds will be added to the money raised from the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s in September.”

While last Thursday night’s “Cocktails for a Cause” was co-hosted by Hanley’s Ale House – which was once Challenge’s Sports Pub, America and most recently McFadden’s Irish Pub – Alex and Ani also had a hand in the night’s success.

Alex and Ani’s Charity by Design donated a special Sunflower Charm Bracelet, with part of the proceeds being directly donated to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Mallozzi said the night’s attendees made a contribution, and in exchange were entered in the night’s door prize raffle for the Alex and Ani Charity bracelet.

Meanwhile, Cherry Hill Manor hosted the special social and provided appetizers that were made by Hanley’s Ale House chef Mike Oozoonian. The night also featured a raffle table courtesy of Cherry Hill Manor, and cocktails were mixed by Crystal Fasulo.

“We’d like to thank the staff at Hanley’s Ale House and manager Bruce Livingston for their hospitality,” said Mallozzi. “Remember, events like this really mean a lot to the Alzheimer’s Association.”
