Emma M. (Grande) Butmarc, 88, of Johnston, passed away on September 19, 2103. She was the beloved wife of the late Philip C. Butmarc.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Gennaro and Marie Grace (Geremia) Grande.

Her love of life was obvious to all who knew and met her. She touched many people with her passion for family, cooking, and a belief that one should live life to the fullest. And she did! From dancing till dawn, card playing, and entertaining family and friends, her energy was endless. The most important remembrance of Emma is that family is first!

She is survived by her loving daughters, Brenda Valenti and her husband, Edward of Johnston, and Marsha Cotter and her husband, Michael of Johnston; her two cherished grandchildren, Erica Visokey and her husband, Kurt of Connecticut, and Dr. Erin Valenti, M.D. of Boston; and two great-grandchildren, Jayne Elizabeth and Matthew Philip; her dear sister Rose Culla of Cranston. She was also the sister of the late Arthur, Archie, Paul, William, Domenic, and Adeline Grande, Susie Licciardi, Anna DiRaimo, Dorothy DelSignore and Jennie Macera.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142. Visit Nardolillo.com for online condolences.
