The members of Johnston Dance and Performing Arts (J-DAPA) are working tirelessly to raise $5,000 that will be used to purchase a new sound system for the Johnston High School auditorium.
J-DAPA, which recently expanded into a statewide community theater group, will present its annual Cabaret Friday and Saturday, June 22 and 23, inside the JHS Auditorium.
“It’s our annual Cabaret,” said J-DAPA Director Donna Tellier. “The show will include acting, singing and dancing and is sure to have you laughing, crying and definitely relating to many of life’s everyday issues.”
The Cabaret is entitled “The Story” and tells the tale of a husband and wife and their daughter, Annie, through good, bad and comedic times.
“The Story” will make its debut on Friday evening, June 23, and curtain time is 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Café tickets and preferred seating are $25 and includes light dinner and entertainment one hour before the show. Show time on June 23 is also 7 p.m. To reserve tickets call Tellier at 944-4866.
