Johnston High’s PTSO hosts Holly Fair

Explorers and elves, signs, stones and Santa were all included in the new-look Johnston High School Parent-Teacher-Student Organization’s record-setting Holly Fair last Saturday.

Some 52 vendors, who sold a variety of interesting items like Jonathan Prata’s Fork & Brownies and Judy Maloney’s Lil Toot’s Handicrafts, transformed the spacious cafeteria inside Johnston High School into a unique holiday shopping gallery for the annual event that helps the PTSO raise money for various programs connected with Johnston High.

“We’re excited about the turnout,” offered Melissa Patrone, a PTSO member who along with Lori Agnew greeted Johnston School Committee members Gena Bianco and Lauren Garzone. “We couldn’t have asked for a better day.”

Kellie Moreau, as well as Julie Colson and Taylor Poland, who manned the Puzzle Piece Program that helps special education students, agreed.

So did Johnston Police Capt. Thomas H. Dolan and Lt. Steve Guilmette, who led a delegation of uniformed Explorer Post 405 members who performed a number of duties including opening the two large glass main doors for shoppers.
