While the Johnston 11-year-old all-star team just missed out on qualifying for the four-team state tournament, Johnston Memorial Park still served as the host for the entire event.
Last week, opening ceremonies were held in between the first round games, as the teams marched in with the banners, the police guard was in attendance and the national anthem was sung to the crowd. The tournament began on July 19 and runs through July 25. Warwick Continental and Cumberland are the two teams remaining vying for the championship.
