Louis C.K. announces spring standup tour dates at Foxwoods Resort Casino

Foxwoods Resort Casino, in partnership with Bill Blumenreich Presents, announced that six-time Emmy Award winner Louis C.K. will take the stage at the Northeast’s premier entertainment destination in Mashantucket later this month. The cultural icon will bring his raw, honest brand of comedy to Foxwoods’ Grand Theater on May 25 and 26, the only New England engagement currently announced on his limited 13-show tour.

C.K. made headlines this year with his self-financed and self-distributed drama series Horace and Pete, which wrapped its 10-episode first season last month. The show debuted in January 2016 and is being directly distributed through his website louisck.net. Additionally, C.K. serves as executive producer, writer, director, editor, and star of FX’s Peabody Award winning hit show Louie, which recently aired its fifth season. Under his multi-year development deal with FX, he also serves as co-writer and producer on Baskets starring Zach Galifianakis and Better Things starring Pamela Adlon. He will also executive produce Amazon’s One Mississippi, a comedy based on the life of comedian Tig Notaro.

On stage, C.K. continues to cement his status as one of the most innovative standup comedians of all time. Always one to experiment, he released his 2011 standup special, Louis C.K. Live at the Beacon Theater, directly to consumers through his website for $5. The move was hailed as groundbreaking and was a remarkable success, and he donated a large portion of the proceeds to charity. He released his latest stand-up special, Louis C.K. Live from The Comedy Store, in the same manner in January 2015, a few months before the special premiered on FX.

In January 2015, he became the first comedian to sell out Madison Square Garden three times for the same tour. The third show was recorded and released as a digital audio download on his website, which went on to take home a 2016 Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album.

Louis C.K. will take the stage at Foxwoods on May 25 and 26 at 8 p.m. Tickets will go on sale on Friday, May 13 at 10 a.m. They can be purchased online at www.foxwoods.com or www.ticketmaster.com, or by calling the Foxwoods Box Office at 800-200-2882 or Ticketmaster at 800-745-3000.
