HIDING

PLACE

Sgt. Joseph Salvadore reports stopping a car on Plainfield Street on March 14 because the passenger was not wearing a seat belt. He said a routine check on the driver revealed an outstanding warrant for failure to appear for a suspended license charge. The driver, Albert Bello, 22, of 127 Illinois St. in Central Falls, was arrested and taken to headquarters.

Salvadore said he was doing an inventory search of the vehicle when he saw a toggle switch and wiring, which his experience told him was an indicator of a hiding place for weapons or drugs somewhere in the car. He said he called Rhode Island State Police and had one of their canines search the car. Police uncovered the hiding place, but found no drugs or other contraband in it.

DON’T

SHOUT

Patrolman David Galligan reports he was on patrol near Mill and Joy streets around 12:40 p.m. on March 13 when he saw a familiar face who was shouting at passing vehicles. He said he had prior contacts with Jason Delellis, 43, of 1 Larkwood Court in Johnston, and asked him why he was shouting at passing cars. He said Delellis told him he was trying to get the attention of his girlfriend who was driving by. Galligan said a check revealed that Delellis had a Superior Court warrant out for failure to appear for a restitution review from a larceny charge. He said Delillis was processed at headquarters and then transported to Superior Court.

FAMILIAR

FACE

Patrolman Derek Parascandolo reports seeing another familiar face near 110 Atwood Ave. around 10:20 a.m. on March 13. Parascandolo said he knew that James J. Lang, 53, of 1136 Plainfield St. in Johnston, had at least three outstanding warrants, for driving a car without consent in Warwick, reckless driving in Cranston, and larceny out of Providence. Lang was processed at headquarters and then transported to District Court. Parascandolo noted that Lang had 57 priors on his BCI record.

PICKED UP

Patrolman Remy Mendez reports being dispatched to 32 Angell St. around 10:40 a.m. on March 16 to transport a DUI suspect to District Court. He said Timothy B. Little, 27, of that address, was located in his bedroom and arrested without incident. He was subsequently transported to District Court.

OBSTRUCTING

Sgt. Joseph Salvadore reports stopping a car on Killingly Street around 8 p.m. on March 12 for driving without headlights. He said the driver told him his name was Denzel Camacho. After more questioning, Salvadore said he believed that the driver was lying about his name and warned him of the consequences of lying to the police. He said the driver then admitted his name was David Camacho, 25, of 33 Miner St. in Providence, and that he didn’t have a license. He said mug shots from other police departments confirmed the man’s identity, and Camacho was arrested. He was later released on $5,000 personal recognizance.

SUSPENDED

Patrolman Adam Parkinson reports responding to an accident at Hartford and Borden avenues around 11 a.m. on March 12. He said he discovered that one of the drivers involved had a suspended license. Felix E. Quiroz, 23, of 50 Lenox Ave. in Providence, was arrested and later released with a summons.

Sgt. Joseph Salvadore reports stopping a car on John Street around 11:30 a.m. because the driver was not wearing a seatbelt. A routine check revealed that the driver also had a suspended license. Richard W. Fisher, 27, of 192 Atlantic Ave. in Providence, was processed at headquarters and later released with a summons for District Court.
