WARRANT

Patrolman Michael Protano reported stopping a car on Hartford Avenue around 9:50 p.m. Feb. 19 because it was displaying an expired inspection sticker. He said he ran a check on the driver and learned that there was a warrant out for her for failure to appear for a disorderly conduct charge in Warwick. Melissa A. Migliaccio, 26, of 506 Phenix Ave., Cranston, was arrested and later released by a justice of the peace after she paid court fees. She also got a ticket for the inspection sticker.

SLOW THE PLOW

Patrolman David Loffler reported being dispatched to Atwood Avenue and the Route 6 overpass for a damaged vehicle. The owner of the car told Loffler he was heading south on Atwood when a large amount of snow fell from the overpass and crushed his windshield. Loffler said he was still speaking with the owner when another large clump of snow fell on a second vehicle. This time, the woman who owned the car cleared off the snow and saw that the roof of her car was dented and caved in. Loffler said he quickly figured out what was happening. The snowfall came from the snowplows on Route 6. He said he had dispatch call RIDOT and tell them to slow down the plows on the overpass because the momentum from the rapidly plowed snow was pushing it off the overpass and onto the road below.
