R.I. Breakers looking for players

The Rhode Island Breakers AAU basketball program is looking for sixth and seventh grade girls who are looking to increase their skills and compete in a top quality basketball program.

Players will compete throughout the New England area in Amateur Athletic Union sanctioned tournaments and will receive quality developmental instruction throughout the spring season. The team practices at CCRI-Warwick on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 to 8:30 p.m. throughout the season.

The mission of the R.I. Breakers is to improve the basketball skills of those student-athletes who were willing to show exceptional dedication to the sport of basketball and have a desire to play at the collegiate level; to promote sportsmanship and cooperative spirit among the participants regardless of race, religion or socioeconomic standing; to enhance the cultural and educational opportunities for the student-athlete through travel outside the state of Rhode Island; and to promote education through basketball.

Anyone interested in playing can contact director Bill Coughlin at BILLCOUGH@aol.com or coach Ron Charbonneau at poohchepachet@aol.com. For more information, visit www.ribreakers.org.
