Just a few days after announcing a special program offering free kickboxing lessons in November for youngsters ages 7 to 12, famed instructor, author and award-winning fifth-degree black belt Christina Rondeau has extended the offer.

Rondeau this week announced that her unique pre-holiday offer will run through Thursday, Dec. 15, at Kickboxing Corporation and Rhode Island Fitness that’s located at 12 Sunnyside Avenue in Johnston.

“The idea behind this offer is for kids to have a fighting chance and learn how to protect themselves,” Rondeau, who is a champion professional kickboxer and boxer, explained. “We also want the kids to learn anti-bullying techniques, build self confidence and learn how to cope with the anxiety and stress they may have in their days.”

A 2011 inductee into the Martial Arts Hall of Fame, Rondeau went on: “The kids program is a mix of kickboxing, self defense and fitness. We offer it with teaching the youngsters discipline and etiquette, as well.”

Rondeau, who is the well-known author of “Power Parent” and “The Elements of Staying Safe,” has been giving back to the community in many ways. The reason she’s offering free classes is for families that otherwise couldn’t afford such instruction.
