Save a Life Tour sends important message

Posted

On Thursday, April 10, Johnston High School's SADD organization hosted the Save a Life Tour in the gymnasium.

The Save a Life Tour travels the United States in a trailer. Their purpose is to prevent teenagers from texting and driving and drinking and driving.

The presentation began in the auditorium, where we were presented with videos involving tragic stories of families who were affected by drunken drivers and people texting while driving. After that, we had the opportunity to drive two different simulated cars. One simulator demonstrated what it is like to be driving while intoxicated, and the other provided us with a sense of the dangers and difficulties of driving while texting. We also had the option to sign a banner that was a written promise to never text or drink and drive.

This presentation was extremely effective for the students and really gave us the chance to see the great risk that you take if you decide to pick up a drink and drive or answer that text.
