Students at Johnston High School have been working very hard throughout the school year on their artwork. An Art Show was held and was open to the public on Wednesday, April 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. Everyone was welcome to come and view the students’ artwork. The people who came to view the work were not disappointed. There were sketches, paintings, ceramic figures, gargoyles and many other pieces of art.
The Art Show was extra special this year because of the tape art around the school. Students were no longer creating sculptures or drawing in class. They were out in the hallways creating different scenes. Within a week, the hallways at JHS became a museum. Students were creating the scenes with special tape. This tape made the halls of Johnston High School come alive.
With the Art Show now behind us, the next upcoming event at JHS is the Sophomore Semi-Formal. It is being held on Friday, April 13, at the Cranston Country Club. It will start at 6:30 p.m. and come to an end at 10:30. The theme for this year’s Semi-Formal is “Majestic Masquerade.” It will be a fun night all around.
