AAA joins in DeCubellis magnet mission

The non-profit Katie DeCubellis Memorial Foundation (KDMF) and AAA of Southern New England have teamed up, kicking off 2013 hoping to keep the roadways safe. For the entire month of January, AAA will have 80 KDMF magnets on their vehicles throughout the state.
The KDMF is also proud to announce the Rhode Island State Police, Big Blue Bug Solutions, Del’s Lemonade, Munroe Dairy, and Almeida Plumbing are all participants in this latest campaign to help keep the roadways safe.
John and Meg DeCubellis know firsthand of the devastating toll impaired driving can have on a family. On Oct. 29, 1999, a drunk driver killed 13-year-old Katie DeCubellis. Since then, the Foundation has raised awareness about the dangers of driving under the influence and distracted driving.
Each month, one or more establishments will place the KDMF magnets on its vehicles. To date, the KDMF has awarded more than $300,000 in scholarships, prizes and donations.

Did you know?

The water content of snowflakes is more variable than we think. An average snowflake is made up of 180 billion molecules of water, but the snow-water ratio depends on various factors such as temperature, crystal structure, wind speed, etc. Even if there aren’t any images of the biggest snowflake ever recorded, the Guinness Book of World Records states that a giant snowflake was found at Fort Keogh, Mont. on Jan. 28, 1887. It was 15 inches wide and 8 inches thick. (Source: toptenz)
