Did You Know?

Did you know that the leaf colors red, yellow and brown are in the leaves all year long and only become exposed when the green chlorophyll disappears in the fall? Bright red and purple colors come from anthocyanin pigments, like in maple leaves, are formed from trapped glucose. Maples, oaks, elms, birch and ash trees are just a few of the trees that give spectacular colors during the autumn season.
