TFW West Side hosting Push-ups for Paws benefit

Mike Cronin, an entrepreneur and certified strength training coach, is set to host a unique fundraising event.

“It’s called Push-ups for Paws,” said Cronin, who owns and operates TFW (Training for Warriors) West Side located inside Next Level Fitness at 12 Industrial Lane in Coventry. “It’s basically a fundraiser for the Providence Animal Rescue League.”

Cronin said the workout on Saturday, Jan. 23 will begin at approximately at 10 a.m. All proceeds will go to the rescue league, for which he has been a volunteer.

“The workout is safe and open to all ages,” he said. “The program will include music, free prize raffles including gym memberships, Providence Animal Rescue League prizes, and even prizes from the Rumford Pet Center [in East Providence.]”

Rene Moyen, a Coventry native who owns and operates the Next Level Fitness facility, added: “This event should be lots of fun for everyone, and if you cannot take part in the physical workout, why not stop by and make a donation that will benefit the Providence Animal Rescue League?”

Drop-in donations are only $10 per person, and as Cronin and Moyen predicted earlier this week, “the workout will be one hour long and have a lot of high fives.”

“Everyone here is excited about the event,” Cronin added.

TFW West Side specializes in fat-burning and muscle-building programs. Among its clients is Anthony Sherman, North Attleboro native who played football at the University of Connecticut and is now a member of the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs.

“Anthony trains here at different times in the offseason,” said Moyen, who doubles as the offensive coordinator at Bridgewater State University in Massachusetts. “He’s quite the guy.”

Saturday’s fundraiser will also feature TFW apparel, gift cards, and a two-month TFW coaching group workout.
