The Bridge at Cherry Hill set for Summer Concert Series

Posted

The Bridge at Cherry Hill is about to offer more than what a promotional package describes as an “enriching retirement and independent, active lifestyle.”

Next Tuesday, June 28, the Johnston-based facility – which is part of the Century Park family of senior living communities – will kick off its Summer Concert Series.

Nick King will be the featured performer, treating Cherry Hill residents and members of the community to what Maryann Grace called “a night of jazz.”

The concert will begin at 6 p.m., and Grace this week issued an open invitation for “area residents to join us for our entire Summer Concert Series.” Admission, she noted, is free.

“Join us at 6 p.m. for each concert – rain or shine,” a note on The Bridge’s promotion poster reads. “We will move the event indoors in the case of rain. If the whether is nice, bring a lawn chair for outdoor seating.”

The second concert will be held on Tuesday, July 5, and the night’s theme is Honky Tonk Piano. J. Slick is scheduled for the July 12 concert, which Grace said will feature “oldies and rock ‘n’ roll music.”

“Our residents really enjoy our concert series,” Grace said. “We’re looking forward to great weather for each and every scheduled event.”

The July 19 performance will feature Janine Andrews, who recently took part in the Johnston Senior Center’s third annual Dinner and Rock ‘n’ Roll Show.

Kim Oakes Non-Stop Entertainment is scheduled for the Aug. 2 concert, while Nick King will be back on Aug. 9. On Aug. 16, entertainer-singer Bobby Bourassa will bring his luau-style music to the Bridge at Cherry Hill.

The Aug. 23 show will bring rock music from the 1950s, ’60s, and ’70s and featuring Russ Morency. The Summer Concert Series will conclude on Aug. 30 with the Orchestra of One, a.k.a. Susan McLeod.
