A special trip for a special girl

Posted

Six year old Autumn Jencks, a kindergartener at the Early Childhood Center, recently took a special train ride to visit Santa at the North Pole thanks to her amazing artistic abilities.

Several weeks ago, the Sun Rise held a My Merry Christmas Coloring Contest for a chance to win four tickets on the Blackstone Valley Polar Express Train Ride. We were stunned at the response when more than 200 children submitted their colored pictures of a festive snowman conducting a train.

But after careful consideration, it was Autumn who was chosen as the winner. When her name was announced as the winner on the intercom at her school, a collective cheer from her friends could be heard throughout the building.

Autumn took her special trip on December 17 with her mom and dad, Ashlee and Michael, and had a wonderful time.

“Seeing is believing, but sometimes the most real things in the world are the things we can’t see” the Polar Express Conductor.

We wish you a Merry Christmas, Autumn.
