Annual pasta dinner a success at JSC

JSC recently hosted its annual pasta dinner sponsored by D’Palmieri’s bakery on Killingly St. A total of 150 guests attended, relishing in the delicious menu of salad, pasta & meatballs, Italian bread, wine, coffee and dessert with a special ice cream social sponsored by Lorraine from Cherry Hill Nursing and rehab center.

What a great evening said Advisory board President Peter Lombardi Jr. said who donated all the wine for the evening. Center Director Anthony Zompa introduced the entertainment and told everyone that they were in for a big surprise with the sounds of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Bobby Vinton and a host of other performers from days gone by. Ron Giorgio the 18-year-old performer who sings like he has lived a life far beyond his years brought down the house.

The dance floor was packed with everyone enjoying song after song of some of their favorite artists; people in the audience were singing along and having a great time. During the intermission there were raffles, for gift certificates, Italian basket donated by Vanessa from Cedar Crest Nursing and Rehab Center, and a grand prize of a lottery lantern donated by Lorraine from Cherry Hill Nursing & Rehab Center.

“You know people are enjoying themselves when everyone stays to the end said Center Coordinator Denise Bell.” The evening ended with Assistant Director Millie Santilli thanking everyone for coming and supporting JSC events. Millie also mentioned all of the sponsors, and thanked the hard working staff and volunteers for making the event a huge success.

“We will definitely be having Ron back again,” said Millie. Ron Giorgio entertains at Anthony’s Restaurant on Atwells Ave Providence on Thursday and Friday evenings.
