Anyplace Travel's rededication goes the extra mile

Amid a colorful celebration that resembled a Grand Opening but was officially called a rededication, Johnston Mayor Joseph Polisena told some four dozen people: “Congratulations. This place is absolutely beautiful and we’re certainly glad you only moved four units in this plaza and not out of town.”

Polisena then touted women like Nancy DiGiglio, Tracey Barbieri and Alexia DiGiglio-Mancini who own and operate Anyplace Travel which has been located at 1450 Atwood Avenue in Johnston since 1986.

Perhaps the smooth sounds and songs of Sinatra, which were being sung by the talented Ron Giorgio of North Providence -- who offered a special rendition of “My Way” -- best described the late afternoon event and short move of Anyplace Travel.

As Alexia DiGiglio-Mancini – who is Anyplace Travel founder Nancy DiGiglio’s daughter – recently said, “Anyplace Travel moved four doors down in the same place to our original storefront because we wanted to create a new high tech office with a new theme and vibe.”

DiGiglio-Mancini, who is as talented in the food industry as she is in the travel world, added, “We also wanted to stay in Johnston where we began 33 years ago in 1986.”

The move did indeed create a new theme and classic creations of everything from a uniquely done world map to a sliver airplane propeller just like the ones that carried many passengers in-and-out of the former Hillsgrove Airport in Warwick which is now known as T.F. Green International Airport.

Moreover, the many people who attended the re-dedication were indeed proof that the three owners have earned an excellent reputation in the travel business but more impressive, perhaps, is that ever since Nancy DiGiglio opened her agency the theme has been “Let our family help your family with any and all travel needs.”

“We are proud that people know us as a family business,” said DiGiglio-Mancini. “We pride ourselves in service and satisfaction for every customer that walks through out doors or calls us on the phone. We offer personalized service and everyone here, pardon the pun, and are always happy to go the extra mile.”

There were several stories that surfaced about Anyplace Travel and its three owners during the impressive reredication of a small, family-owned and operated business that has become well-known for its special service and solid reputation.

“Travel Tracy is back,” DiGiglio-Mancini said, “Tracey Barbieri has come back home and we are so happy.”

Barbieri has nearly three decades of experience in the travel industry and began her career at Anyplace Travel. She left for the corporate world and has returned ‘home’ to take our agency to the next level. Now, we have 60-plus combined years of experience.”

When asked what’s hot in the travel industry, DiGiglio-Mancini quickly related: “European Travel is H-O-T! My mother (Nancy DiGiglio) is our Italy expert and very well known for her expertise and she used to do all the (travel) work for singers Andrea Bocelli and Luciano Pavarotti.”

She also noted that Mexico and Caribbean travel is also on the rise for 2019 and destination weddings are becoming more popular, just like the small storefront that moved only four doors down and decided to stay in Johnston instead of moving anyplace to book travel.
