Barbara (Seamans) Amaral

Barbara (Seamans) Amaral, of North Providence, died peacefully surrounded by family at the Hope Hospice Center at the age of 81. She was the wife of the late Joseph Amaral Sr.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Mary Seamans. She had lived most of her life in Johnston RI. Residing also for years in Port St Lucie, FL. The past 17 years were spent living in North Providence. Barbara worked for years at K-Mart corporation before retiring. Her love for her great-grandchildren was beyond words. She loved all their visits and spending time with them. Her friendly personality and giving ways to all her friends was a blessing and she brought sunshine to everyone who knew her.

Besides her late husband she leaves three sons: Joseph Amaral Jr. of Boca Raton, FL, John D. Amaral of North Providence and Steven P. Amaral of Johnston, two daughters: Cheryl M. (Amaral) Marino of Johnston and Karen J. Amaral of Johnston and a daughter-in-law, Jo Ann Amaral. Barbara was also the sister of Jim Seamans of Lexington, Kentucky. She was the sister of the late Larry, Donald and Gilbert Seamans, and sister of the late Shirley Seamans. She was the loving grandmother to six grandchildren: Derek, Daniele, Christina, Steven Jr., and Billy. She had four great-grandchildren Alex, Natalea, Camden and DJ, which whom she adored.

Visiting hours will be held Friday morning, December 28, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. in Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith Street, North Providence. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
