The Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce recently held its annual Holiday Open House. Hundreds of Chamber members and their guests gathered at the Twin River Event Center in Lincoln to kick off the holiday season.

Due to the generosity of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, Twin River Casino and a national matching program in place, $12,000 was collectively raised and donated to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. With the Food Bank’s purchasing power that translates to about 16 tons of food for Rhode Island Food Pantries.

According to chamber President and CEO, John Gregory, “We are very aware of the number of people in Rhode Island who don’t have the means to provide nourishment to their families. This event is a tremendous opportunity for the chamber and our partners to give back to our community.”

The Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce represents the interests of businesses in the communities of Burrillville, Central Falls, Cumberland, Foster, Glocester, Johnston, Lincoln, North Providence, North Smithfield, Pawtucket, Scituate, Smithfield and Woonsocket. The NRI Chamber leads the Chamber of Commerce Coalition, representing 11 area chambers of commerce. The Coalition is the largest business advocate in the State of Rhode Island representing more than 6,500 businesses and 70,000 employees statewide.
