Deceivers in the Democratic party

Posted

To the Editor:
Niccolo Machiavelli (1469-1527) wrote “The Prince,” his cynical criticism of political leaders and the political system of his time.  What Machiavelli wrote has application to the present conflict in American discourse between the major parties. Machiavelli’s several precepts included this one: “One who deceives will always find those who allow themselves to be deceived” (or willingly aid in deception: my words).
Is there any doubt the deceivers in the Democrat party are the Obama/Clinton/Soros group? It was a tragedy to this country to suffer the eight long years of the deceitful, dishonest and deliberate dismantling of this country’s interests, security, economy and leadership by the Obama cabal. The restrictions on letters does not allow a thorough exposition of these failures because of the multiplicity of the Obama team’s incompetence or curious intent. Only their dedicated followers refuse to acknowledge any fault.
Then the Democrat brain trust, to their everlasting disgrace, had the audacity and insult to support the most vile candidate to the office of president that has ever been proposed in the history of the country. Again, this candidate’s failings are so extensive that this letter would of necessity be voluminous. Yet those gladly aiding in the deception and those willing to be deceived like so many automatons resort to absurdities, insult, violence, chaos and anarchy.
Will anyone be surprised if investigators uncover who is orchestrating this confusion?
The Communists refer to the deceivers and deceived as “useful idiots.” Do Maher, Kimmel, Colbert, Griffin and Baldwin understand that that is what they may be considered by others?
One might include our governor and our four congress people. Their dedication to this egregiously flawed candidate and their gross reluctance to aid the new administration is deplorable. Do they not understand that they are hurting the American people by their intransigence?  And the ranting and hyperbole from Rep. Cicilline and Sen. Whitehouse are beyond tiring.
Dante Alighieri (1265-1321) wrote “The Divine Comedy,” which was his “record” of travel to the three levels of the after-world. From the “Inferno” section of his treatise, he writes this refrain: “Consider your origins: you were not made that you might live as brutes, but so as to follow virtue and knowledge.” And so for all politicians who seem to very much live as though this is a neverending life, do you ever take time to reflect on your life, give an accounting to your family, friends, constituents…or perhaps as required at some later time as intimated by Alighieri? Or, is that of no concern?
As for all the rest of us, should we be surprised that virtue is expected of us as well? Yes, even in our political life.

The media and DNC have no one but themselves to blame; for more than two years running up to the 2016 election, they colluded and the MSM scandalized, ridiculed or outright ignored every Republican candidate in the mistaken belief that Hillary could only defeat Trump.

Second, the whole phony "Russian hacking" narrative was the result of the DNC being exposed for the incompetent, condescending fools that they are- they aren't angry that someone supposedly caused their defeat, they're upset that the public now knows for certain (particularly their own voters) exactly what their leaders think of the average Democrat voter- it's always been "under the skirt", the DNC's just upset that everyone has seen what's under there.

Lastly, the DNC "owed" Hillary for stepping aside for "The One" in 2008 and giving her the plum position of Sec.of State (anyone else wonder why they didn't offer her VP?). It's not like she really had a choice- the LA Times was going to "out" her if she didn't step aside.

Only a fool would be shocked that she lost; fortunately for the majority of RI voters, you already live in a restrictive, Leftist enclave where the government doesn't have your best interests at heart- you really don't need Hillary, unless you wanted to force RI's "values" on the rest of the Nation.
