Explorers take over Memorial Park

Posted

For the fourth time in two years, weather put a damper on the Johnston Police Explorers Post 405 Car & Bike Show Sunday. Last year’s show was rained out twice, and this year, cloudy skies and the threat of rain diminished the crowds expected at Memorial Park.

“I’ve never seen anyone put so much work into an event and then get weather like we’ve had the past two years,” said Johnston Police Captain Marc Boisvert, who coordinates the Explorers Post.

Still, the park was filled with amusements for families and car enthusiasts. Antique cars filed in, while young people gravitated toward the dunk tank, carnival games, vendors and bounce house.
