Festival Ballet Providence announces final performance for Alan Alberto, company member since 2012. Alan Alberto, Company dancer with Festival Ballet Providence (FBP) since 2012, will perform with the Company for the last time later this month, dancing in Little Mermaid, April 27-29 at The Vets, One Avenue of the Arts, Providence. Alberto plans to stay in the area and focus on a new career.

Mihailo Djuric, artistic director of FBP, said, “We have been very fortunate to have had Alan in the company for the past six years, and I know our audience has come to enjoy and respect the power and artistry he brings to the stage.” He continued, “We are certainly sad to see him go but are looking forward to watching this next chapter unfold and wish him the very best in that future.”

Alberto is graduating in May with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Johnson and Wales University, a degree he earned while dancing full time at FBP. “I’m excited for this next chapter in my life and I’m grateful for the opportunity to have danced with Festival Ballet for so many years,” Alberto said, adding, “I’m looking forward to continuing to grow my local food brand and contributing to the community in my new career.”

Highlights from Alberto’s career at Festival Ballet include leading roles in Balanchine’s Rubies, Allegro Brillante, Agon, and principal roles in The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Lady of the Camellias, Cinderella, Scheherazade, among many others.

Alberto will dance the principal role of Prince in April 27 and 29 performances and the soloist role of Admiral in April 28 performance.
