Forand Tenants Association digs in at annual clambake

The clambake and outing tradition continues at the Forand Circle facility of the Johnston Housing Authority. Nearly 60 residents of the Aime J. Forand Tenants Association gathered for the annual clambake on June 7 at the Forand facility in Johnston.

JHA Executive Director David M. aRusso praised the Forand Tenants Association for their work in coordinating the event.

“The JHA is pleased with the true team spirit exhibited by the tenants association. This group of enthusiastic seniors is incredibly motivated to host and sponsor enriching activities for the residents,” he said. “Aime J. Forand Tenants Association leadership team, headed by President Beverly Williams, is a force. They are ready, willing and able to spearhead these great events, and in the end it is the residents who benefit.”

Williams said coordinating these events isn’t easy, but it’s worth it.

“It was somewhat challenging to pull this all-day event together, but with team spirit, we did it. The only thing we could not control was the weather and it is my feeling the collective prayers for sunshine were heard and answered,” she said.
