Rhode Island Treasurer Seth Magaziner recently recognized 57 high school juniors from across the Ocean State with the Young Leader Award.

The award is presented to high school juniors in Rhode Island who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in math, economics, finance and business-related courses and are active in their community.

Among the students receiving the award from Magaziner was Christopher L. Flanagan of Johnston Senior High School. Flanagan is a member of the National Honor Society and serves as the organization’s local vice president. He has also served as the president and vice president of his class. Additionally, Christopher is a peer tutor and member of the FLOAT committee.

“As I meet with students across the state, I am constantly inspired by their dedication,” Magaziner said. “From Westerly to Woonsocket, these high school juniors have a record of achievement in the classroom, as well as being active in their community. It is my privilege to recognize members of this generation’s outstanding young leaders.”
