EXPIRED LICENSE

On March 5, Officer Vanessa Wilcox was on patrol on Dyerville Avenue when she saw a vehicle run a stop sign while turning off Green Street.

As the vehicle passed, Wilcox saw that the operator was not wearing a seatbelt. She initiated a traffic stop on Merino Avenue.

Wilcox identified the driver as Michael Verardo, 36, of 27 Tyndall Ave., Providence. A license check showed that Verardo possessed an expired license. He was issued a summons to appear in Third Division District Court on March 11 for driving with an expired license, third offense.

Verardo was also issued summonses for failure to obey a stop sign and failure to wear a seatbelt.

BENCH WARRANT

On March 5, Officer Matthew V. Leveillee observed a vehicle traveling down Plainfield Street with an expired inspection sticker.

Leveillee initiated a traffic stop on the same street. The driver identified herself as Santana U. Retamoza, 26, of 48 Heath St., Providence. Procedural checks showed the registration plate did not match the vehicle, while a VIN check revealed the registration was suspended.

Retamoza also had a bench warrant for failure to appear and a suspended license. She also has a bench warrant from Virginia for violation of a court order with no extradition. Retamoza was taken into custody without incident.

Retamoza was later released on $5,000 with surety until a re-arraignment date set for March 12.
