Madonna C. Gilmore, of Johnston, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Miriam Hospital in Providence. She was the widow of Matthew B. Gilmore.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Conway) Finnegan. She had lived in Johnston for 70 years. Madonna worked for the RI School Lunch Program prior to her retirement. Her most cherished times were watching her children and her grandchildren at their sporting events. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her loving children: David Gilmore and his wife, Helen of North Providence, Linda LaFazia and her husband, Vincent of Smithfield, Kathleen Baker of Burrillville, Mark Gilmore and his wife Donna of Johnston, Diane Larsh of Johnston and Michael Gilmore and his wife, Tricia of Cranston, her 16 cherished grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, her sisters: Margaret Garnett, Elizabeth Mitchell and Eileen C. Brunelle, as well as her many loving nieces and nephews.

Her funeral was held Thursday, October 4th at 9 a.m. from the Anderson-Winfield Home, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Mary Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth Street, North Providence. Burial followed in the Rhode Island Veteran’s Cemetery, Exeter. Visitation was held Wednesday, October 3rd from 4-7 p.m.
