Students and teachers from Johnston High School had a “wicked” fun time on their trip to New York City on March 9!

The annual trip, run and organized by Student Council, kicked off with an early departure from Johnston High School at 5:30 a.m. and arrival in New York City at 9:30 a.m. Once there, students first took off on a ferryboat ride from Pier 83 down the expanse of the Hudson River, seeing sights such as the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and the cloudless skyline of Manhattan.

The next event the school took part in was a Broadway showing of the musical “Wicked” at the Gershwin Theater at 2 p.m., which received widespread acclaim from students and teachers alike. After the show, students were able to walk around Times Square and take in the sights of the city until the school regrouped for dinner at 7:00 p.m. at Italian restaurant Buca di Beppo. Both the students and teachers from Johnston High School enjoyed sharing their experiences with each other over a delicious dinner and dessert. At 8:30 p.m., the school boarded the bus back to Johnston High School, finally arriving at 12:30 a.m.
