Morgan Plouffe, a Johnston resident and sophomore attending Moses Brown School, was one of only 102 high school student athletes nationally selected to the NHSCA Academic All American team.

Plouffe competes in the sports of softball, basketball and soccer at Moses Brown School for Coach Peter DeStefano. Morgan’s softball team placed second in the state championships last year. Her basketball team won the state title that same year and her soccer team made it to the semifinals last fall.

Morgan was also named third team All-State in soccer her sophomore year and All-Division in her freshmen year. She has a 3.8 GPA and her future plans are to study sports medicine while playing college sports. She grew up playing all three sports for the Johnston recreational programs and is currently playing for Boston Breakers NEFC premiere soccer club and a guest player for the Johnston Lightning soccer team coached by Mickey LaRose (Johnston Lightning president).
