Upsetting what politicians can get away with

Posted

To the Editor:

On June 7, 2018, Mayor Polisena was found guilty of violating the Federal Privacy Act, slander, malice and causing mental distress to former Councilwomen Eileen Fuoco. The Jury awarded her $34,000 in damages they wanted the defendant to pay, but he is not paying a penny and this does not cover the cost of her legal expenses.

In January of 2015 The Town Council indemnified the case of Fuoco V. Polisena even though they saw and heard what the mayor did to the councilwoman. This put the cost of his evil actions on the Johnston taxpayer.

Is it right for politicians to get away with breaking the laws and a victim to stay a victim even after the defendant is found guilty? Taxpayers, please talk to your neighbors. If you don’t want to pay for politicians’ evil actions, tell your Town Council member you want them to rescind the indemnification.
