William J. “Billy” Danti

William J. “Billy” Danti 83, a lifelong resident of Johnston passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at Cherry Hill Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Johnston on Tuesday May 9th 2017. He was the beloved husband of the late Kathleen (Hanley) Danti for 58 years.

Born in Johnston, he was the son of the late Joseph Danti and Zaira (Marini) Danti. Billy had an infectious smile and loved to make others laugh. He was a great storyteller and a practical joker. He loved to spend time doing word search puzzles and being outdoors and was always willing to lend a hand to others in need. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Billy was a truck driver for the former C.J. Welding Company and later a self-employed excavator in the construction industry before retiring.

He leaves his loving daughter Kathleen A. Rossi and her husband John of Johnston. He is also survived by five grandchildren: his loving granddaughter Jennifer, who helped to care for him, Joseph, Deanna, Donald and Isabella; and a great-grandson, Joseph. He is also survived by his only brother, Albert Danti of Chepachet, and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Donald F. and Ronald J. Danti and brother of the late Anna Danti, Ida Pezzulli, and Alba Cairo.

His funeral service and burial will be private.
