Proposed Amendments to the Zoning Ordinance
(135 Atwood Ave.)

The following is a notice of public hearings to consider a proposed amendment, Ordinance No. 02-25-01, to the Zoning Ordinance and the Official Zoning Map to change the zoning for certain property located at 135 Atwood Avenue and known as Assessor’s Plat 12, Lot 176 & 177 (the “Property”) as zoned B-1.  The subject property is depicted on the enclosed map.

Pursuant to R.I.G.L. 45-24 et seq and Cranston Municipal Code 17.120 et seq, the applicant, Michele Lombardi, is requesting a change of zone for Assessor’s Plat 12, Lots 176 & 177 (the “Property”) from B-1 to C-2.  The application states that the property is to be used for “Neighborhood Business including Professional Office Space”.

The matter was heard by the Planning Commission on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at which time a positive recommendation was rendered.

The public hearing before the City Council Ordinance Committee will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. in the Cranston City Hall Council Chambers, 869 Park Ave., Cranston RI and via Zoom Webinar by logging into the link below or by phone by calling any of the numbers listed below:

Upon the Ordinance Committee’s recommendation for approval, a public hearing will also be included as part of the next regular monthly meeting agenda of the full Cranston City Council.

The full text of this Ordinance and documents for this application are available from the Office of the City Clerk, Cranston City Hall, 869 Park Avenue, Cranston, RI during normal business hours.

All interested parties will be given an opportunity to speak on the proposed amendments during the public hearings.  The proposed amendments may be altered or amended prior to the close of the public hearing without further advertising, as a result of further study or because of the views expressed at the public hearing, provided that any such alteration or amendment must be presented for comment in the course of the public hearing.
