‘Proc Mania’ returns to Proclamation with body slams, suplexes, top rope moves & more

For the past few years, pro wrestling has made quite a resurgence in the American cultural sphere. There’s major promotions such as World Wrestling Entertainment, All Elite Wrestling, Total Nonstop Action and the National Wrestling Alliance making waves all over TV and the internet. Even New Japan Pro Wrestling has had a substantial presence in this part of the world by regularly putting on shows around the United States and signing a bunch of wrestlers who hail from various parts of North America. An unsung beneficiary from this boom is the indie underground level of the sport, which has been making new fans on a regular basis while having matches in unique venues. A prime example of this is “Proc Mania,” which is happening on April 28 at 2pm at Proclamation Ale Company located on 298 Kilvert Street in Warwick.

Being presented by Live Pro Wrestling, this is going to be the fourth edition of the event at the brewery with a ring being set up right in the middle of the tap room. Needless to say, the folks at Proclamation are very excited to be bringing this event back with all the spectacle and athleticism being exhibited.

“Come party with us for our fourth ‘Proc Mania’ this Sunday!” Proclamation owner & creative director Lori Witham exclaims. “We’ll have an 18-foot ring in the middle of the taproom, all-star bouts, tag team challenges, and the best showmanship around! Along with our wide assortment of beers, there will food available from Saugy’s Hot Dogs & D’s BBQ and Smokehouse.”

Accompanied by Benny The Basketball, Jermaine Marbury is going to see if his skills on the court are as good as they are in the ring when he faces off against 18-year-old phenom DJ Powers. There’s another showdown that’s being billed as the first-ever faceoff between the charismatic “Flash” Dustin Waller and the visionary “Dime Piece” Aaron Rourke. Grudge matches always have more of an importance when they’re happening in the squared circle, and that’s exactly what’s gonna go down when “Your Homie The Gnomie” Gabby Forza takes on the “Y2Kutie” Ava Everett. You can’t go wrong with a good tag team match, and in this instance it’ll be somewhat of a mixed one with Little Mean Kathleen and Teddy Goodz looking to get a win against the team of Love, Doug and TJ Crawford. Another can’t miss match on the card is the LPW Skywalker Champion Sammy Diaz putting his title on the line against “The Goatest” Bobby Orlando.

It also should be mentioned that the LPW Champion BRG will be putting on an open challenge, so you never know who is going to show up to try to take the belt. The only way to know is by showing up, and you can get advance tickets to “Proc Mania” via Proclamation’s website at proclamationaleco.com. Due to previous editions selling out, it’s wise to grab a ticket beforehand and you’ll also get a free ½ pour beer out of the deal if you’re the age of 21 or older. If you’re on the younger side, you’re still welcome to attend with the event being all ages. Pro wrestling is a form of entertainment that’s enjoyable for anyone and everyone, so make sure to close out the weekend in slamming style.
