Project chick connects little ones of two species

Posted

The Auburn Library was filled with the sound of clucking last weekend as Project Chick came through. Jeannette Gamache from Casey Farm in Saundertown, RI brought a gaggle of chicks for kids in attendance to see, pet, and learn with. Casey Farm, which is an operating dairy farm, and its residence in attendance had plenty to teach kids about the lifecycle of an egg. Following a slideshow presentation on the lifecycle of chickens, the little ones separated into small groups, humans and chicks alike, where they could spend some time getting to know one another.
