Back in May, there was a really cool stand-up comedy event at the Proclamation Ale Company where people laughed while supporting a great cause. A bunch of money was raised and it all went to support Rhode Home Rescue, a locally based all-volunteer non-profit that identifies and rescues all types of dogs from dangerous situations while looking to place them in a loving environment. This happened due to the performances from a lineup of comedians from both Rhode Island and Massachusetts. It was such a success that it's taking place again at the same establishment at 298 Kilvert Street in Warwick on November 9 at 8pm. Like the previous edition, the comedy night is being presented by the New Hampshire based Moccia Comedy Productions, an organization that has raised over $60,000 for a variety of charities based all over the New England region.

There’s going to be a few more comedians taking part this time around with the Boston based comic and author Kristy Kielbasinski serving as the host. She has a children’s book that combines her knack for comedy with her love of reading while her material is inspired by her life as a stay-at-home mom.

Headlining the evening will be James Dorsey, who shares his life experiences while making funny facial expressions, utilizing an energetic delivery and acting out in a witty fashion. He’s a national winner of the competition “Catch a New Rising Star” along with being a winner of the Plymouth Rock Comedy Festival, a runner up at the Hoboken Comedy Festival and a semi-finalist at the illustrious Boston Comedy Festival. James has also been featured in The Boston Herald and on Spike TV among other media outlets.

“It's always a great opportunity to be able to help raise money for a good cause,” Dorsey mentions about the charity comedy night at Proclamation. “I have done many fundraiser shows and there is always a good vibe in the room because everyone is there with the same goals in mind. Also, it's fun because some people are seeing live comedy for the first time. I have never performed at Proclamation so I am always pumped to perform at a new venue. My performance is high energy including act outs, voices, imitations, crowd interaction and self-deprecation.”

“I like to take strangers for a 50 minute adventure into my little world and see how they come out at the end,” he adds. “It is so much fun to perform in front of strangers who become friends and fans afterward. I absolutely love what I do.”

Rounding out the bill will be Andrew Haskell, who has performed at the Comedy Connection in East Providence and the legendary Dangerfield’s in New York City, and the Boston based comic and writer Kathy Lynch, who has had her work featured in satirical publications like The Onion, Reductress, and The Hard Times.
