Well Mr. Wagner might not know any teachers asking to be armed but I do, several in fact.

"Arming teachers" doesn't mean mandating it, it could mean allowing it for those who are willing and able to do so and (in the world as I see it) going through training before being allowed to do so.

That being said, realize people that it currently is perfectly legal for anyone with a conceal carry permit to carry a firearm in a school in RI. So chances are, there already are at least a few teachers carrying at work and they don't have to tell anyone about it. Wouldn't it be better to offer specialized training (police? swat? FBI?) to teachers willing and able to carry?

It's time to have the conversation as to what we want regardless of what the end result is because the fact is that it's highly likely that some teacher(s) in the state are already carrying in the classroom.
