Johnston High’s Students Against Dangerous Decisions club welcomes new members

Posted

S.A.D.D. (Students Against Dangerous Decisions) is a very popular after-school club at Johnston High School. It focuses on providing students with other alternatives to bad choices and creates activities for students to engage in.

Such events as the dodgeball tournament, the volleyball tournament and the Patriots Place field trip are held each year for any student to participate in. This group of students also does a lot each year to give back to the community.

For example, S.A.D.D. hosts a school-wide canned food drive before Thanksgiving each year. This year’s drive brought in over 1,500 cans. In addition to the cans that were donated, about $600 was collected and given to families in need.

This group is led by Taylor Russo (senior) and Angela Gallucci (senior). We’re very glad to have an after-school club like this at Johnston High School because it pushes our students to make the right decisions and be safe. Any student can join this club by simply attending the next meeting, which is Thursday, Jan. 29 in the auditorium after school.
