MURDER CHARGE

According to reports, Sendra J. Beauregard, 42, of Johnston, is accused of fatally shooting 50-year-old Pamela R. Donahue on Dec. 2.

Beauregard was arrested in Providence on Dec. 22. Police also found a handgun in Scituate that they think was used in the shooting, according to Providence detectives.

Donahue’s roommate reportedly told police that the two women, who had a domestic relationship, had been fighting for several months. Police reported they went to 1 Quarry St. the night before the homicide responding to neighbors’ complaints of a woman screaming in the street outside the apartment house and threatening to kill someone.

Donahue’s roommate told police Beauregard was in the second-floor apartment when he left to buy cigarettes, according to an affidavit accompanying the arrest warrant. According to the affidavit, he returned to find Donohue on the floor between the coffee table and the couch with a needle and bag of what he believed was heroin. Initially, he thought she overdosed, but medical personnel found a gunshot wound in her chest when they got a closer look while transporting her.

Beauregard was ordered held without bail.

UNLICENSED

A Johnston woman was charged with driving on a suspended license on Dec. 17 after Patrolman Michael Edwards ran her plate on Greenville Avenue. A check of court records indicates that Carla B. DeSanto, 37, of 1 Delmont St., has been charged with driving without a license at least six times in between 2000 and 2014; in North Smithfield, Smithfield, Pawtucket, Warwick and Johnston. She was released with a summons on Dec. 17 “due to having issues with child care,” according to Edwards.
